I’m a bit of a Podcast junky. I subscribe to a large number of Podcasts and I’m always looking for times when I can squeeze in more listening to catch up on my long backlog of Podcast episodes. I occasionally have a 5 hour commute for work when I need to visit my team and I get nearly giddy because I know I’ll finally get to catch up on my Podcasts. I listen to Podcasts anytime I’m alone in the car, while I’m cleaning or making dinner, and sometimes on my runs.
Podcasts have been around for a while, but I still find lots of people who never listen to Podcasts. If this is you, I encourage you to give it a try. You just might find that you love them as much as I do.
I truly believe that learning should be a lifelong thing. We can always grow and understand the world and life in newer, better ways and Podcasts are a huge resource for gaining wisdom and perspective on a large variety of topics for absolutely free. Here are some of my very favorite Podcasts. There are thousands of Podcasts out there, so don’t stop with this list, but hopefully these can help you start to find Podcasts that resonate with you. (This list does include affiliate links, see disclosure here.)
The Life Coach School Podcast with Brooke Castillo
Hands down this is my favorite Podcast. Each episode is packed with wisdom on how to take control over your own life and be more awesome. It is originally designed for people who are interested in becoming a life coach, but I’ve found that each episode is a little like a mini personal life coaching session and is useful for anyone wanting to improve themselves. Brooke teaches a variety of concepts that can help you coach yourself into an amazing place. You don’t need to desire to be a life coach to learn some great things from this Podcast.
The Life Coach School Podcast is your go-to resource for learning, growing, and becoming certified as a Life Coach & Weight Loss Coach. Through this podcast, you’ll hear directly from the Master Coach Brooke Castillo to help you better understand life coaching, the required skills and mindsets, and how we focus on serving the client to get them the results they seek.
The Chalene Show
Chalene talks about a wide variety of things, such as health, fitness, confidence, motivation, and general life improvement topics. When I first stumbled on her Podcasts (she has two Podcasts) her personality and voice annoyed me, but her content was fantastic so I stuck around. Her personality has grown on me now that I’ve listened to her for a while and “gotten to know her”. She really provides some great information that can help motivate you to a better life.
Tips, resources, interviews and practical steps to help you improve energy, balance, organization, health, fitness, relationships, focus, faith and happiness. Each episode is designed to give you strategies and simple steps you can implement today to become a better, more balanced, happier version of yourself. This podcast will feel like you’re sitting down to chat with someone who believes in you, adores you and only wants the best for you! The Chalene Show is fit life coaching, personal development, personal growth, priorities, productivity, faith, family, fashion, and humor all rolled into one.
Cultivating the Lovely – The Podcast
This is a newer Podcast by Mackenzie Monroe (she also blogs at BoldTurquoise.com and Periscopes a lot). The target audience of this Podcast is primarily on stay at home moms, home-schoolers, and homemakers, but I think the information in the show is valuable for all moms. We could all use a little more loveliness in our daily lives and homes.
This is the podcast all about pouring the labor, care and study into the roles that God has given us as wives, moms, women, homemakers and His children. It is meant to inspire us to be living with passion, intention, beauty and delight in the everyday moments, right where we’re at. Come sit down and have a cup of coffee with Mackenzie Monroe and her guests as they discuss how they fill up more in order to pour out to their families and learn to cultivate loveliness in all sorts of other ways.
Your Move with Andy Stanley
This is essentially a weekly sermon from Andy Stanley. They are always really good and practical for our everyday life.

You Need a Budget (YNAB)
I’ve talked about YNAB before. It is our budgeting software for our family and absolutely amazing. The YNAB Podcast may be the shortest weekly podcast you’ll ever listen to. Most episodes are only a couple of minutes, but they each provide one small budgeting or money concept to consider and ponder to improve your finances. I love YNAB.
A weekly dose of just the right medicine to help you get out of debt, save more money, and beat the paycheck to paycheck cycle.
The 5am Miracle with Jeff Sanders
Energy in high capacity. That is how I’d describe Jeff Sanders. I love that his Podcasts are always energetic and provide great tips and information for getting stuff done and being productive. This Podcast has a strong focus on productivity, but also includes a lot of information on healthy living as well. You don’t have to wake up at 5am to listen to this Podcast, but it might make you want to.
The 5 AM Miracle is a weekly podcast dedicated to dominating your day before breakfast. My goal is to help you bounce out of bed with enthusiasm, create powerful lifelong habits, and tackle your grandest goals with extraordinary energy. This podcast has ranked #1 in the Self-Help and Business categories of iTunes, been nominated for two 2015 Podcast awards, and exceeded 1 million downloads.
