As busy working moms we just can’t do all the things. One of the things that is important to me is serving my family healthy meals each day. Unfortunately, healthy meals often become an impossible feat for many families between work, extracurricular activities, and other obligations. But I have discovered a tool that makes serving my family healthy weeknight dinners a breeze.
That tool is Prep Dish. And particularly the Super Fast menu option that is available through Prep Dish.
What is Prep Dish?
Prep Dish provides done for you meal planning with guided prep instructions that help you prep your meals in advance. This makes weeknights dinners simple and stress-free. The Super Fast menu provides prep instructions that take an hour or less to prep 5 dinners. It is life-changing.
How I use Prep Dish to Serve Healthy Weeknight Dinners
Typically, Mondays are slower nights in my family. It is the one day a week when no one usually needs to be anywhere. That is the day that I’ve chosen to prep my meals. After work on Monday, I pull up my Super Fast menu and instructions and work through the steps to prep all five meals for the week. Then, I finish the cooking instructions for the first meal to be our dinner for the night. The rest of the week, I just follow the “dish day” instructions each night. Dish day instructions usually just involve popping my already prepped food in the oven or heating it up on the stove.
You can select whatever day of the week works best for you to prep. Many people follow the prep instructions on Saturday or Sunday so that every weekday is free from chopping and dicing. Hallelujah.
What is Included in a Prep Dish plan?
Each week, on Friday, the team a Prep Dish sends out the meal plans and instructions for the following week. That way you can place your grocery order and prep over the weekend or whatever day works best for your schedule. The main subscription for Prep Dish includes the Super Fast meal plan, but you will also receive the plans for Gluten-Free, Paleo, or Keto menu plans if you’d prefer to use those. The non “Super Fast” meal plans are very similar, but the prep time usually takes 2-3 hours instead of less than one. Those plans also include some snacks, breakfast, and dessert options for the week.
I have been using Prep Dish on and off for several years now. Ever since I discovered the Super Fast plans I use the menus all the time. The recipes offer plenty of variety each week so you definitely won’t get tired of the same thing. Usually, there is a fish/seafood meal, a chicken meal, something with beef, and a vegetarian meal on the plan each week.
But How Delicious Are These Healthy Weeknight Dinners?
The meals are very tasty and nutritious. The creator is a Registered Dietician and a chef, so she has mastered the art of creating recipes that are both delicious and healthy. One of my children eats most things and my other child is extremely picky. My goal at dinner time is to always provide a delicious and healthy option and model good eating habits. My very picky child will regularly at least try parts of each meal and often discovers that he likes what he tries. This is a win in my book because getting this child to try anything beyond pizza and chicken nuggets is a miracle. My other child and my husband and I have enjoyed nearly every single meal.
There are also substitution suggestions that can help you adjust the menu to your liking. I don’t like most fish and seafood so I nearly always use the suggested substitutions for those meals (which is usually just replacing the fish with chicken). They also have suggested swaps for nuts, dairy, and ways to make every meal vegetarian.
Where Do I Sign Up?
Prep Dish offers a two-week free trial and then has monthly or annual plan options after that. They also provide additional challenges and have stand-alone specialty plans (like a Whole 30 complain reset plan). You can also purchase a Breakfast prep Bundle or an Entertainment Prep bundle to help you with holiday and party meals.
Prepping and cooking takes soooo much out of.my time each day. I can’t even tell you how much time I spend thnking about what to do for each day of the week. My family is vegetarian, so sometimes its even harder to find suitable meal ideas. Thanks for this post!
