It’s Christmas time! One of my favorite things to do during the busy holiday season is curl up on the couch with a blanket, a mug of hot tea, and a good fiction book. An Amish Second Christmas was the perfect book to do just that.
This book is a compilation of four Amish novellas written by Beth Wiseman, Ruth Reid, Kathleen Fuller, and Tricia Goyer. The stories are all centered around the Amish celebration of Second Christmas which is the day after Christmas and a special time of extended celebration for family and friends. I’m always up for a good romance story, so it was great to get four unique Amish romances all in one book.
When Christmas Comes Again is the first of the novellas. This story involves a bit of mystery, a bit of romance, and even some humor. It is a touching story about a family’s trials, grief, and eventual healing.
Her Christmas Pen Pal might have been my favorite of the four stories. There was definitely some sweet romance involved in this story. I was so upset when I reached the end of this story, it had a perfect ending, but I wanted to continue reading more about the characters. I was definitely “sucked into” their lives.
A Gift for Anne Marie tells the story of a couple of friends who miss what is right in front of their face. It was great to watch their romance unfold from friendship to love.
The Christmas Aprons is a great little romantic story that follows a shy young woman and a kind and caring man as they discover a love that neither of them were looking for.
This is a perfect heart-warming, carefree book to read on those tired nights after the kids are tucked into bed.
